When did it totally stop?
How many months post RNY did your weightloss completely stop. I understand that after 6 months it slows down, and I know that surgeons say that weightloss stops from 12-18 months. But I'm curious to know at what month did you guys completely stop losing. It would be helpful if you can advise of your starting weight when you had surgery, and the weight that you were when weightloss stopped, and of course the number of months. Thanks!
Thanks. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever come close to my goal. I'm 1 week away from being 7 month's out and I've only lost 1/2 of my weight. I sometimes wonder if I will make it to goal, or if my body will just stop. I've had several wicked stalls the last one lasting almost 3 months. I hope my body continues to lose at least until 18 months 20 months will be awesome.

I started at 270 lbs, quit losing 18 months out when I was down to 122, and made an effort to increase my calories in order to stop losing.

Kelly, I just read what your starting weight was, I didnt realize you had lost that much. Have you had any plastic surgery following your RNY? YOu look so slim and toned, or were you just lucky with good genetics ? I feel positive that I will be okay losing after my surg in Sept, but I am more concerned with the flabby skin post surgery. My upper arms and inner thighs are already disgusting to me after a 50 lb weight loss 3 yrs ago..... and cellulite? Oh, I could write a book on that !! I am pretty sure that Plastic Surg is in my future, but my insurance will only pay for the abdominal work....

My surgery date was 10/11/11. Just to let you know that I lost fast for the first 4 months and now I am losing 2 to 3 lbs a month. I really didn't expect it to be this slow but if I continue to lose at 2 lbs a month, I will be at goal at 15 months out. I had an 8 week stall after 4 1/2 months. I know we are not suppose to compare ourselves with others but hell I am human. It does feel like I will never get to my goal of 147.
I lost 100 pounds in 11 months the other 40 pounds came off and have stayed off in the past three years with daily exercise, strict diet and food choices. My bypass gave me the opportunity to control my food especially at first, because I felt like crap when I ate bad, couldnt eat but a few bites of food at a time, and dumped on sugar and dairy.
But now it is mostly my choice every day to maintain my weight loss as I can pretty much eat whatever I want and in much larger quanities.

This is ahard question for many to answer I bet. Everyone looses do different. Me? I lost my first 100 pounds around 1 yr..then about 60 pounds the following yr..The year after that an additional 20 pounds.i was super thin and undre tons of stress.i was divorcing, mom to 3 young kids.My ex spouce was abusive also. I'm not an emotional eater,I'm an emotional starver. I don't eat when i'm sressed out.. At one pound I was 89 pounds.. Although I didn't look dead,I'm only 4'11 and a really small framed person..So with that being said,I bet many are in that same boat.. I have stayed the same weight now for about 3 yrs..
Mine still goes down from time to time. Nothing is set in stone. That being said, my main weight loss period was 14 months. At that time I reached goal (losing 170 pounds from 310 to 140) and purposely upped my calories so I would not lose anymore. The last few months, though, I've lost 5 more without really doing anything.
