Ramblings of my thoughts 2+ years post op with photos
I too am an identical twin. I feel sorry for non-twins.
I liked what you said about your children..that you keep them exercising. As a child when I was moving and involved with sports I stayed thinner. My son does not take after my body type (he's tall and lean) but I do keep him in sports. He also takes walks with me. I find out the most interesting things on those walks. He will really open up.
I wish I could have sugary treats in the house and not hear them calling my name.
Your success is evident. Congrats on your 2 years!

We've taken turns being the fat twin. She has a type of colitis that causes malabsorption. She developed it soon after I had surgery so she had kind of a "natural" bypass. She lost over 100 pounds very quickly. She got sick of everyone telling her how healthy she looked when in fact she was quite ill.
She is doing better now and has gained some weight. I think we are about 50 pounds apart now. It doesn't really factor into our relationship. We are both just grateful that we are both healthier. I can not imagine life without her. I talk to her everyday on the phone.
I don't talk about my bypass much with her though. She like most of my family find it boring!

OH my sister and I have so taken turns being the fat twin! But even with both our ups and downs neither of us was ever even remotely close to the size I am now. I know when we are together it's hard for her though--she once told me when I was only about 6 months post op that when people told me how good I looked it was like they were slapping her in the face telling her how bad she looked!
I love her no matter what and know that I can't make her be healthier that she would have to choose that for herself. So I am content to just not discuss it.
