3.5 year report
I have not posted here in quite a while. I have had great results and I hope my story encourages others. First let me say "Ita ain't easy." It takes a great deal of work and dedication. Having said that I started out over 500 lbs 3 and a half years ago. I could barely walk 25 feet and was ready to just give up.
I had my "last chance surgery" August 17th 2009. I now weigh 202 lbs and I have maintained my weight loss for over a year. I am much more proud of the maintained weight than I am of the overall loss. As most of you know, it is much harder to keep it off. This past year I turned 60, had both knees replaced and became a certified Indoor rowing trainer. I can now stand and work for 7 hours or more and life is once again worth living.
My advice is to do exactly what your Doctors tell you. Believe in yourself. Then get busy and go to work. Really take advantage of the first year to create new habits. That is what will serve you well in the long term.
