Great job! I am training for my first 5k and it's tough stuff! I am often dwn on myself as well though.
Ignore those thoughts and celebrate your accomplishments!

I've lost over 120 pounds - which at 5'1" tall is a LOT.  I try to walk 2K everyday with my husband, or at least most days so I have an "idea" of just how far 5K is.   So here is what I think..........

You're friggen awesome!

It all starts with a pound, then 30 pounds, but you WILL get there.  Look what you've done already!!  Pathetic?  No.  Just astounding.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

I'm still trying to pick my triple-chin up over the fact that you even did a 5K just 2 months post-op!  I'm happy to just get to the end of my driveway and back!....lol. Just imagine what you'll be able to do in another 2 months! Congrats.

Thank you, everyone, thank you so much for the encouragement...it has been of tremendous benefit and has most definitely lifted my spirits.

It does occur to me that the physical appearance, while perhaps not the least nor last of the reasons I opted for WLS in the first place, will probably be the last to present itself...and that the higher priorities are, in fact, the ones in which progress is most readily noticeable...clothing sizes, physical activity, newfound self-control and restraint....

A year ago, I most certainly would have thought than anyone who had lost 30+ lbs and was whining about it not being enough was a blind as well as a moron...

Often I try to live out my code, which is, "Want what you have."

Today all that I have just wasn't good enough...but it is, now.

Thanks, again!

I see a whole lot to be proud of when I read this post, including being honest about your head not being caught up with or able to accept yet all of the changes your body and spirit are making. I think this is proof that you'll be just fine!!

I am so proud of you for all you have accomplished and for all that is to come. I haven't had my surgery yet and can't wait for the time when I can be more active just like you. You are my idol!!

I am floored! You did a 5K ... I've lost over a HUNDRED pounds and I haven't attempted ONE K lol... You really should consider taking the WIN, anyway you can get it. Every step you have taken since your surgery date is a win... You are so far ahead of where you were a year ago, hell TWO months ago! At some point you will want to start working on your " self talk " and start with telling yourself YOU JUST FINISHED YOUR FIRST 5k. That is amazing.

I second what Stan said! Congratulations on the 5K...that's a big NSV in itself!
