I'm going in to week four (Tuesday) and we are in the height of watermelon season and well this country girl is ready for some watermelon! If i cube it and chew it well, have you been able to tolerate it?   What's your thoughts?    Sherry

Sherry

you should be okay with 1/2 cup of watermelon to 1 cup which is not much!!  anything more than that you might dump!!

I tried it at 2 weeks, didn't sit well. i am at 4.5 weeks and have had netarine and a plum recently. I am sure you could manage it at 4 weeks. Just dont eat too much, now I have a modest piece of anything and wait for 15 mins before I eat more. The dumping experience is no fun.

I have no problem with any fruit.

my plan allowed NO fruit for 6 months or until you had lost 1/2 of your excess weight. What does your plan say about fruit? It has no protein so it isn't the best thing to eat at 4 weeks out, but if your Dr allows it than it's up to you.

Check your surgeon's plan... I was not allowed to have fruit for several months after surgery.  And when I finally did have it, I couldn't handle anything too fibrous (now I am fine with just about anything).

i came home from the hospital on purees...was on that for 2 weeks and then i could have soft foods and watermelon was on that list....my plan actually said i could have it during the puree stage which i did, and how can you not chew waterlemelon well?? i have no problem with any fresh fruit..in fact that is usually my last bite of food when i am eating so it kind of gives me a drink or change of taste and texture, my plan it to not drink for an hour after im done eating so my last bite is always some kind of fruit...
good luck

Watermelon sounds great, I'll have some, please!

My plan is fine with fruit after the first 2 weeks. I can eat it no problem. Altho I have no problem with any fruit and likely don't dump. Just take it slow and enjoy!

I'm with Heather on this. I can ea****ermelon like it''s going out of style! Try a tiny bit first and see how it feels. Also it's pretty juice so it can help on the fluids as well (that's my story and I'm sticking to it )
