Exercise and the Dreaded excuses we use!
Lets list the excuses we use to not get out and exercise and what the result was.
Excuse: It is to early to get up (As alarm goes off at 4am)
Result: Rolled out of bed telling myself if I didn't get it doen then I probably wouldn't.
Excuse: It's cold out (As I was getting dressed to go run 12 miles in 29 degree weather)
Result: Awesome run which resulted in a nice crust of ice on my hat
Excuse: It is might rain
Result: Last 3 miles were nice and cool from the Rain (Both 6+ mile runs and 43 mile bike ride). Reality is they don't cancel raisies because of weather.
Excuse: I doubt I can keep up or finish the class
Result: Rocked a 2 hour spin class!
Excuse: 2.8 miles is a long way to swim
Result: Finished the swim and made it to my am spin class with the knowledge that if I commit I can do it!
So what excuses do you use to try and talk yourself out of getting it done! do they work?

If I don't open this thread I won't feel guilty about missing my workout, right??
Nope it's not working.
Also, now that my kids are home for the summer I can't go to the gym because I can't bing them, and I can't work out at night. It's too hard.
I wonder how that will work out for me.
In all seriousness, I did skip the gym today, but I remembered they have a Zumba class tonight. No excuses!

The "it's too damn early to get up" excuse happens every day that I run, but I get up and do it. And if for some reason my judgment suffers and I stay in bed, I make time and go later in the day and that's a reinforcement to just do it when I'm supposed to, because honestly running in the afternoon/evening is a pain in the ass when you have little kids...I feel guilty about going out to exercise while they're awake and leaving hubby to deal with dinner and entertaining them etc. He's fine with it, it's my own issues that make me feel guilty lol
It's too hot!
The kids are home for summer!!
My period is too unbearable and I can't moooovveeee!!!
All ridiculous excuses since I have indoor options when it's too hot, the kids can certainly exercise with me (we can walk to the park or at the track at the middle school at the end of my street), and getting moving generally helps the period blues/cramps.
I do usually give in to the excuses, but some days are harder than others.

Well I am going to be in Las Vegas this next week so I guess I will have to get in a couple outdoor runs to take away your "It's to hot excuse"
