I'm almost 6 weeks out and feeling hunger for the first time yesterday and today. I'm staying with my eating plan but I'm terrified hunger will one day take over. I don't ever want to go back to my old life. How will I handle hunger in the future? If you have any tips or tricks I would appreciate it.

Eat several small meals that are focused on protein.  Some people find that protein shakes help.  Some find that eating a couple ounces of meat work better.

And stay hydrated.

When I feel hunger, it's a sign that I haven't eaten enough protein or kept up with my liquids.

Make sure your getting in your protein and lots of fluid. If you tend to eat when bored, pick up a hobby and keep busy to keep your mind off the food. If you are a late night eater, make a "cut-off" time. No food after X oclock. Do you need to add in a "snack" to help get over a Hump, keep healthy stuff on hand so you don't reach for the sugary stuff.

I found that doing things that required both hands helpful because I didn't have a free hand to eat with.

Remember: hunger is not an emergency. It's okay to feel it, acknowledge it, and not give in to it, especially when your head says to eat something not on your plan.

Hunger is not an emergency!  I love it!  That is going to be my new mantra, so true

Everyone makes a lot of sense and you're right. I've been struggling to get my protien and liquids in the last couple of days. When I left for work today I left my protein shake sitting on my kitchen counter. I need some emergency supplies for my desk I guess. Thanks for all your words of advice and encouragement.
