Drunk feeling after eating.

I am now 20 weeks (5 months) out today.  I had the RNY and lost 98 lbs in the first 3.5 months and since then I've lost an extra 5 lbs making a total of 103 lbs lost since February 6, 2012.  My worry is that within the last month or so after eating I get this heavily drunk feeling.  It's exactly like drinking a few cups of alcohol.  I literally get slurred speech, feel the high feeling and need to lay down to sleep it off.  What is this?  I'm eating the same thing as always so I haven't added or taken anything away from my diet.  I'm getting a little less then my protein goal daily although I work on it daily and liquids have been quite a bit of a struggle because I'm law enforcement, have kids that keeps me on my toes and go to school full time.  My vitamin regimen is on point except my potassium and iron because It was making me horribly sick and as per doc's recommendation I have stopped them altogether.  I'm also shedding alot more hair then usual but I expected that.  I don't mind it too much because I have naturally thick hair, I'm just praying it doesn't get out of control.  Please help me, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

What are you eating?  Is it very heavy in carbs?  Is it only after eating?

Have you called your doctor?

I get what I call a "fullness coma." Doesn't have to be carbs. If I eat just a bit too much...zzzzzzzzz...

And it's not always easy to tell in the beginning when you ate too much.

I've been experimenting bit think I get this too no matter what eat.

Wonder if I keep meal size really small it will make any difference.

So frustrating.

Actuallythis sounds very serious to me, but I don't know all that much. sounds to me you need to find a way ANY way to get iron in and potasium , maybe with food? bulloin/sodium, banana,  spinach , cook in cast iron.
I have a hard time believing that a bariatric doc would tell you to quit iron, and you have to get your fluids in especially in the heat.
How are your blood sugars right after eating when you are feeling drunk?
Good luck and best wishes

When this happens check your blood sugar.  Since you didn't mention a time frame when this happens, it could be a hyper or hypoglycemic reaction.

I would consider checking into lactose intollerance.  I felt like that for years prior to any surgery until I found out that I had been missing an enzyme.  Now, I am clear headed and no slurring words.
I am set to have the rny surgery around Nov, hope I don;t go back to that yucky feeling.  Right now I feel great, just too fat and can;t control it.
