Tell Me About Your Day

This morning I had a rough time at the Tri training group workout.  Plagued by self doubt, and then that was compounded by coming in next to last from the 10.2 mile bike ride.  The first half was straight into headwinds spun off from Tropical Storm Debbie... sustained at 15mph, gusts to 30.  It did make for a fun ride back, but by then it was too late for me to catch up.   I was too self conscious to do the one mile run there, so I went on home and did a 1 mile run (13min) and a 200yd swim.

B1- mint cookie protein w/ water
B2 - WW Waffle w/ peanut butter, blueberries
L - egg, P28 cheese toast, turkey bacon
S - frozen blackberries (from my yard)
   - alfalfa sprouts (new love!)
   - turkey pepperoni w/ cheese and Triscuit crisps
D - tilapia w/ cheese and onion;  broc / cauli, green beans, peppers
S - cottage cheese, SF jello and fruit

I had a nice, relaxing Sunday.  Played outside with my 3 year old for a while this morning, did some leisurely grocery shopping, and watched a movie with my hubby (this never happens!).

Breakfast - one egg and a slice of american cheese on an english muffin
Snack - half an apple
Lunch - 1.5 oz whole wheat pasta with meat sauce
Snack - Nature Valley protein granola bar
Dinner - half of a bacon cheddar cheeseburger, a couple bites of corn
Snack - some sort of popsicle or frozen treat

Breakfast - protein bar

snack - protein shake

lunch - cheese sandwich

snack - no sugar added ice cream

Then I messed up.  I ate some tortilla chips.  Like I needed carbs.  Or a treat.  I'd already had ice cream!  But there are tortilla chips in my house and they are so easy to eat!  And then, of course, my blood sugar dropped.  It was 63 when I checked it.

So then I ate a protein bar to get my sugar back up.  I wasn't really hungry but I had to eat it to get my sugar up.

I'll probably have some homemade Greek yogurt later, before bed.

I've had a lazy day today, but it involved quite a bit of crap eating.  NSA Klondike cars, plenty of toast, pb and sf preserves.  Nsa sweet gherkins.  Hot chocolate.

No real food.  I feel like crap because I've eaten crap.  I'm just bloated and gassy too.  I tried to make a protein shake in the blender.  Mint cookie, water and ice.  It just didn't sit well in the tummy so I popped it in the freezer instead.  Probably won't eat it.  I'll just stick to my protein mixed with water from now on.

I take that back - I had lentil chili for dinner.  Followed by toast.  Argh.

Yesterday at Acro Yoga workshop was awesome!  I posted a thread on it with a few pictures.  I wish they would do another one soon!  I'm soooooooooo sore though, in a hurts so good kind of way.

I'm looking at trying some new workouts.  Looking into a new CrossFit place opening up in town.  A friend recommended a jazzercise place in town (do people still do that?), and I want to try out a couple of kickboxing, Zumba and spin classes at the gym.  I do better in groups where i get to know the people and they look for me to be there.  The treadmill doesn't care if I show u*****t!

Oh toast..you taunt me so. Your yummy  quick buttery goodness is always calling me.
I remember when I couldn't eat toast but like a fool I kept on trying. Big Mistake!
I could and have eaten toast all day.

Yesterday was our 11th anniversary.... hubby and I slept in.

So far today:

1. Protein Shake
2. Egg, Ham, & Cheese (half a saucer full) Hubby made the egg really wet, so it went down better than usual.
3. Protein Shake
4. salad with artichoke hearts, cheese, snap peas
5.  Protein Shake
6. Three small baked spring rolls

I'll probably have some kind of snack before I sleep (I alwyas have a pillow snack) most likely some more artichoke hearts and cheese.

Today all i did was mope about the house and enjoy a day off. Only four more days of summer school.

I meant to be more productive, but all I got done was help someone transport 28 moving boxes from my house to her truck, laundry, grocery shopped, and tidied up a little bit. Now it's nearly dark, which means I'm done. I meant to eat better, too. After foraging for three days, I overbought at the supermarket.

B--protein latte
L--3 turkey meatballs, some watermelon
Tea--cheese and pickles*
D--3 oz of steak. First steak since surgery. We'll see how La Pouchette likes it. I didn't marinate it so it was kind of tough.
Bedtime--herbal tea, I hope; or protein cocoa since I didn't have any chocolate today. (sniff) I feel I overate and was out of control, although I haven't counted calories or fat grams.

*I wanted to get some apples, but they're $3.99 a pound!

Last day of my mini-cation. I didn't eat particularly well during this trip but on the same token I'm not sorry about it. Taking a small "vacay from my RNY" (to the extent that this is even possible) sort of just reminds me how much I love fresh, healthy food.

Today I slept in a bit because yesterday was hella active. We went a bunch of places, including taking a walking tour of Harper's Ferry so we were pooped!

I got up and packed up me and the girls to check out of the hotel. Then we went to try and steal plums off a plum tree that seemed public but the plums were just falling the ground and squishing and I felt that wasn't right. But in the interest of not being arrested I only collected the three I could reach. I did get a bunch of crabapples from a nearby bush and fully plan on making a relish with them from a recipe I've been wanting to try.

Eats. Newbies, cover your eyes. What you see may shock you.

1. A little omelet thingie with cheese inside, a biscuit with gravy, a sausage patty and a slice of whole wheat toast with peanut butter (not all at the same time but close enough that I should group it together)

2. A half a Cajun chicken sandwich with cheese/jalapenos on a ciabatta roll (leftover from dinner last night)

3. Um...I think I ate a mini-cookie somewhere along the way

4. A chipotle BBQ snack wrap

5. A chicken tender

6. A protein shake

And now I am going to bed! Tomorrow starts my poverty challenge and I'm honestly thinking I can only have two meals a day for what I have to spend on food (details on Bariatric Foodie), so I will be GOOD and grumpy come tomorrow. Expect it!

RNY Gastric Bypass 1-8-08 350/327/200 (HW/SW/CW). I spend most of my time playing with my food over at Bariatric Foodie - check me out!
