Popcorn at 7wks post op?
What does your plan say? If it's not on your plan, or if you don't have a plan, give your surgeon's office a call and ask them. It won't hurt to wait through the weekend. Personally, I waited over a year and I still only have it rarely as it can be a tricky food for me. I can just sit there and eat it mindlessly and I like to be aware when I eat now a days.

I haven't tried corn, or pop corn yet. I am 5 months out now, but will mostly wait a year or more. I don't want to risk getting something stuck. I'm big chicken when it comes to trying new things haha

I am six months out and I tried popcorn for the first time last weekend. I had about a cup of it. Remember that it is very fluffy but once you chew it, it is almost nothing. It is also a carbohydrate. So you need to have your protein, complex carbohydrate and still have room for a regular carbohydrate. I find that I will eat it occasionally, very occasionally.

I pretty much commited myself to eating nothing but protein and some veggies until I lost all the weight and then gradually added back the carbs while I got the hang of maintenance. I still avoid refined carbs and all sugar and gluten. I do have snacks but they are almost always high in protein. Snacks that don't have a lot of protein are rare, maybe once a week or less. If I could figure out a way to make the popcorn high in protein I would have it more often.
