I would love to hear from people on why they feel they are commited to this life style change now more than ever. ie.,  I feel I am ready to do this because_______.
I personally am sick of being unhealthy, not able to do the things I like, and feeling crappy.

I was to the point that I was basically home bound, with decreased mobility and unable to go to my children's activities. I was literally killing myself with obesity and was to the point that even with a cpap machine, felt like I was suffocating -- it was either the surgery or early death. One month post-op and life is good and will continue to be (prayerfully) for a long, long time. I lost 90 pounds on the pre-op diet that my surgeon put me on in January, and have lost 20 pounds since surgery.

I am ready to do this because I am sick of not being able to go down or up steps without huffing and puffing. I am tired of sitting at tables instead of booths. I am tired of not being comfortable on my boat or camping like I used to love! I am sick of holding my family back and not living my life! I am taking my life back !!

I feel alot like you Karen- I am huffing and puffing - choosing tables instead of booths, not boating or camping like I used to and love to do. I want to be FREE!! Good job for taking it back Karen.

I want to be here for my daughter as she grows up. I don't want her to be standing over my grave at 23, like I did with my dad. He wasn't overweight/obese, but he had heart disease and smoked.

Also, I'm noticing that I can't get away from my fatness anymore. I used to just shrug it off, but I feel my health depends on it.

I started my journey 4 years ago yesterday with my RNY.  I wanted better health, to get off meds for BP, acid reflux, cholesterhol and I did.  Never have I maintained my weight for this long....3 years.  I would like to lose another 20 lbs. but I'm not stressing about it.

The added energy, shopping in the Misses department, no more Xs in my closet, no problem fitting in a booth, room for my dog to sit beside me in my chair, not being embarassed about my size when my husband introduces me......and the list goes on.

Best thing I ever did for myself.

I am looking forward to all those things too. ESP the one where I am not embarrased about my husband introducing me to people.
