When hubby and I were dating he and I drove across the country to see his kids, and visit his mom. One evening of the trip we were in the hotel room and it dawned on me that I'd been sitting around with this man naked for hours without feeling self-conscious about my body. I think that's when I realized I was going to marry him. Nobody had ever made me feel okay with me and my body like he did.

How liberating! I am glad your experience at the nudist colonies was so positive and healthy.

The people I feel truly bad for are the women who get scolded for breast feeding in public. I don't understand how anyone is going to be traumatized by seeing boob. The woman is just trying to feed her baby; it's completely natural.

I am a closet nudist. I kid you not. I rarely wear clothes at home. Even when the children are home.

Yes, that was TMI thanks for asking. My mom was the same way. She'd walk around the house naked as a jaybird, until my brother was born that is. Then she somehow gained modesty.

I think that the human body is beautiful. All of it. I am not so much into tattoos and stuff but I love to show off my body - batwings, stomach flap and all.

I was about to come in and post about my pet peeve - wearing things that do not fit, that are too small.  But you know, you're right.  It is just me thinking it is unattractive to look at, and you know what... if someone has the confidence to put it all out there in the general public, good for them.

Everyone else does not have to dress to my standards.

Now, at the office is a different story.  There are things that should not be worn to work and that's why they made a dress code.  Hmmm... food for thought.  Thanks!

As a kid it used to bug me that a woman could be arrested for wearing nothing from the waist up, and yet a man couldn't. Sexism at its worst. I also thought it was wrong when a movie could show full frontal nudity for a woman, but couldn't for a man. What's the difference? (not that men have anything really all that attractive)

In the summer, here in AZ, indoors means hubby and I wear the least possible clothing. When we want to swim in our swimming pool, we swim withiout restraint. (but we could be arrested for being naked in our backyard behind 6 foot tall cinderblock fences, or for being naked in our house with the curtains drawn if someone were to go to the window and peak in through a crack in the curtains).

I'm a fan of the body in it's natural state, sags and all.

Just out of curiosity what is to much cleavage showing? I'm pretty sure that what is to much in one person's opinion may be fine in another person's. Personally I've been big chested since I was about 13. My mother set limits for me way back then on what was to much to show. However, as I got older it has always been what I'm comfortable in. (or as my dad use to say you've got 'em flaunt 'em!) I can show cleavage and still leave plenty to someone's imagination. Now, granted, there is a time and a place and I wouldn't go to church with much showing, that's just the way I was raised! As for jeans, I've never seen a pair of jeans with an age limit attached to them! Just because I'm older doesn't mean I have to wear baggy mom jeans! I've got a pair of Apple Bottom jeans and a pair of Derion's,too. I also have a nice round behind and darn it that behind looks good in those jeans! I don't dress to impress I dress in what I think is appropriate and comfortable for me. I'm quite sure my SO would let me know if what I was wearing wasn't appropriate, so unless he has an issue with what I'm wearing (or one of my kids) I'm good to go.

I for one do show cleavage almost all the time...though I dont think inappropriately. My boobs are one part of this newly emerging wreck of loose skin and droopiness that I actually love! Same goes for my legs from midthigh down and I like to wear clothes that nicely show those areas off.

that stuff doesnt really bother me, although I havnt seen many pictures of ppl in too revealing clothing. But when I see someone who looks great, still wearing baggy, loose clothing 5 sizes too big, i wish i could give them a shake and take them on a makeover shopping spree!

Some people think that getting a pink streak in my hair (I'm 43) is just a futile attempt to have a younger image. THEIR opinion has NOTHING to do with my choices. I choose it because it pleases me (it's purple AND pink right now, Aquamarine scheduled next month).

Some people think that shorts are completely WRONG for soceity if a person doesn't have beautiful legs. It's wrong (they say) to flash all that rampant cellulite. As if we have an obligation to provide eye-candy and if we don't have eye-candy legs, it's wrong to wear shorts.

Some people think that blatant post-WLS bat wings are offensive to the eyes, so I should wear only three-quarters length sleeves and not inflict my flappy arms on their eyes.

Frankly, I wear clothing that pleases me and my husband, and while working I dress according to the dress code for teachers. I do NOT wear clothing to make those who don't like to see cellulite or bat-wings feel good about their visual environment. I choose what I wear according to my decidedly weird sense of aesthetics. When I was somewhere between 350 and 400 pounds I didn't buy clothing to help me fall into the background. I wore hot magenta pink, bright primary blue, electric pink and purple, orange, yellow, every bright color imaginable. I didn't dress to make others happy -- I dressed according to my own desires. The majority of my clothing is hand-me-downs and might not be perfect, might not fit everyone's aesthetics, and frankly nobody is obliged to dress for others' pleasure.

I reject the notion that people shouldn't wear something because it's "too young" or "too bright" or shows "too much skin". I do see people and think, "I believe that's not a good choice for that body type" or "that color isn't a good color" or "that looks bad" but ultimately it's not about what I think about their clothing.
