Good, so my aquamarine colored streak of hair should look perfect.

I dress to please me. my boss didn't say anything about the red streak, or the purple or the pink or green or blue strea****il I doubled the size of the streak and they used the wrong magenta pink and he said "Wow, that pink really stands out". To which I replied, "Whatever it takes to catch and HOLD the kids attention, I'll do it"

I love being a rebel.

Although I agree about not worrying about offending other people's eyes with showing cellulite or batwings, I think that dressing so that your nipples, pubic hair, or butt crack are just barely covered is inappropriate no matter where you are.

When I saw the Sports Illustrated cover with the woman with the micro-bikini where the bottom was barely big enough to cover the "slit" where her labia come together, I was embarrassed!

absolutely agreed.

acceptable at the swimming pool in spite of people who might think it's a sin to show off cellulite:

Flaunting your private bits shamelessly... embarrasing when overweight, and frankly not all that acceptable or attractive (my opinion of course) even if you have augmented bits:

I would be willing to show those thighs in public.  I just wish my thighs looked that "good", LOL.  They are NOT permitted to see direct sunlight except in my backyard on my lawnchair.

I for one would love a private "what not to wear " session.  It is hard to know how to dress when you have been obese most of your life.  The last time I shopped in a regular store I was 20.  Now I don't know where to shop.  ( I am 42)  I want to go places like American Eagle and Eddie Bauer because that was where I shopped before.  Then I think someone my age should be shopping at macy's.  The last few times I have left empty handed because I am overwhelmed and don't know where to go and what looks good on me.

If you are in the DC area or ever passing through...I'd be happy to assit with shopping!  I'd even brink Nik along and we could tag team you.  You'd be the best dressed post-opt buy the time we were finished with you!

My own Clinton and Stacy.  I wish I could take you up on it.  I used to live in NO VA.  I don't see us getting back there anytime soon.

Thank you for the offer.

By the time I read every post, the topic has changed from what to wear to nudity.  Now for the years that I was in art school I saw (and drew) plenty of nudes.  Not a problem because I love a good rendition that show the artist has real talent but the nudes aren't having clothing issues. lol

Back to the real topic:  Taste in clothes is relative.  What we wear does make a difference ... image is everything.  If you don't have a public profile in a career or organization then do what you want.  Personally, I have enough recognition locally that what I wear will affect our business.  Our sons have achieved a level of accomplishment in their careers that they understand the importance of their appearance.  I think it plays a part of their success.

I do have to take issue with any idea of what older women should wear.  I am older and I wear smart, fashionable styles if they are appropiate for the ocassion.  They reflect my mental state not my age.  Therefore no polyester in this house.

If you are uncertain about what is the best color, size, or style for you then you should take a friend shopping or someone you respect for how they dress.  I do understand how confusing it would be if you never had the opportunity to buy smaller sizes and in the short span of 6 months suddenly dropped 50 to 100 lbs.

That's my thought.
