Please, I am not looking for negative comments :)

Has anyone taken weight loss pills after surgery? I can't seem to get off my last 25lbs.

Thanks,
Mich

I don't think anyone would be negative so much as they would be real.

Having said that no. And I wouldn't. I didn't have my guts rearranged to do diet pills, plus do we even absorb the drugs in them well?

I would say part of those last 25 lbs. is likely skin. Part of it may have to be good old fashioned portion control and exercise.

I haven't tried them.
I'm also trying to get off the last 25lbs too.
I know, for me, the smooth sailing has come to a halt and like Nik said, it's going to come down to choosing the right foods, exercise, getting in enough water and protein.
I know what I need to do, but discipline has never been my forte :/

Nope.  When my loss slowed, I found it picked up again when I cut my carbs to 30 or less and upped my protein over 100g.

Will that 25 put you in normal BMI?  Where are you now?  I would think you just need to keep on keeping on and you will get there.  If you are less than 18months out, you are still in honeymoon and although it may take you a while, you should still be losing.

I haven't tried any diet pills although I have to be careful with caffeine since it can make me a little too energized that I forget to eat. I wish there was a pill to fix my overeating! I still struggle even after surgery! Although, it is better...much better. I suppose what would keep me from using a pill is the idea that I would probably gain all the weight back once I stopped. That is something I'm not willing to face. How about getting your resting metabolic rate tested to find out exactly how many calories you are burning and them try to modify your diet from there? Here is a link (the first one I grabbed from Google) about it: http://www.fitnesswave.com/portal/portal/getdunked/services/restingmetabolic
I would like to have it done but need to save some $$ first. Hope it helps. Good luck. :)

a friend of mine had her RNY about 18 months ago and was having trouble losing the last of her weight, so she tried some diet pill and ended up VERY ill in the hospital for weeks. Now shes having problems with her kidneys and liver. I wouldnt do it..its not safe..she regrets trying it
