Just want it to be known that I appreciate the vets, I'm glad you've stuck around to give us advice and direction.

WOW!!  It seems like from all the posts that the Vets are tired of the Newbies.  I always appreciated the VET's advice but didn't know that as a Newbie I was a pain.  If that is the case maybe the Newbies need to find another forum or the Vets.

Hmmm..... I can see why you may have that perspective from some of the things written here.  I suspect though that you may have missed some of the very supportive, positive points made.  I encourage you to re-read. :)

No, we don't think newbies are a pain.  Answering the same questions hundreds of times does get old, but that is why some of us don't even open posts about the dreaded 3 week stall, Flinstones vitamins, etc..  If we did not want to help out pre-ops and new post-ops, we wouldn't be here YEARS after our own surgeries!   What IS a pain, however, is the periodic post -- there is one every 3 or 4 months -- talking about how harsh or mean the vets are, criticizing our "tone" or the fact that we gave a straightforward, honest answer or suggestion that someone didn't like because it wasn't the answer they wanted to hear (so then, since we did not just ignore what we know about whatever the issue was and offer a sunshine and sparkles response, we are "mean").

Ok using that logic every time I get sick of parenting my children they should find another home?

No. I don't think we are the parents btw. Just an analogy.

When you care about a community you stick with it. But weariness is normal and natural. We are allowed to talk about it (much better than holding it in and going off on people). And while it may SEEM like it's about you...it's not. It's about us. Sometimes WE need to take the initiative to do some self-care.

This is why you don't see me responding to some types of posts. It's in the interest of me being helpful to you in the way that I can. I think of that as my responsibility as a member of this community.

But no...nobody needs to find a different forum. And yes, you newbies are a pain sometimes. Just like my children are a pain sometimes. But we care about you. Just like I care about my children. Or brother. Or father. Or any dear friend or family member.

I never said or meant to imply that I'm *tired* of the newbies

I am tired of "newbies" slamming vets for not saying things in whatever manner will please them.

I'm pretty much an open book, take me or leave me the way I am.

If I didn't like all the newbies, I wouldn't still be here. I'm here to help, and be helped, I love helping others. I just don't like having my help, or the help of others, being slammed, or complaints that we aren't helping in whatever way one or two people think we ought. That's all

I never think that hte newbies are a pain.... but I don't answer every question that I usedd to answer.
