Good Morning!  I have not been on here forever...  something I MUST change!  Just wanted to check in, see how you all are doing and let you know I think about so many of you all the time!

I am now 16+ months out and pretty much just maintaining with a total of 140 lbs lost.  And I am okay with that!  I am implementing a couple new plans to try to get to my personnal goal of 199 - that's 12.5 pounds away!  I can do it I am sure - just need to cut back and get my butt back to the gym so the silly maintaining stops.

When you neeed to get back in gear... what are some of the things you do?  Here's what I have launched...

1.  Doing a spiritual recheck and letting God back into my process.  I am very much into the "Made to Crave" book, etc. by Lysa Terkeurst.  She is giving me a new drive through her inspirational writing.
2.  Back to basics... protein forward and drink, drink, drink.
3.  I WILL ONLY STEP ON THE SCALE ON MONDAY MORNINGS!!!!  There I said it... put it in capital letters... going to try so very hard to remember this is so much more than a number!
4.  Going to check in here regularly to read how others are doing.
5.  Logging all my food.  I really like myfitnesspal.com because I can use my compputer, IPhone and Fire -pretty much no excuses!

So there's my toip five.  I would love to read what others have done when you needed to get your focus back!

Have a wonderful day!  Looking forward to reading posts and catching up.

Congratulations on your loss, Tessie, and I love your new avatar - very classy hairdo!  I find that checking in regularly on this site and attending my support group meetings every month has really helped me to keep focused and to keep heading toward my goal.

Good to see you Tess. I'm not sure I've ever lost my focus (it's something that I realized early on I just HAVE to keep to be successful). Of course that's an incredibly naive statement, but it's the intent that keeps me ever vigilant. But anyway, here's what I've done to stay on the focused side of the curve

1. Made a commitment to exercise, get fit, be active for the rest of my life. I visualize the kind of "older woman" I want to be and I see: a vibrant, trim, energetic, independent woman who is capable of many things and seeks activity always. It's an image I constantly keep in my mind.

2. I track habitually, and am tragically honest in my tracking.

3. I am the center of my universe (learned this easily from working constantly with freshman college students). My focus has to be on me...that just how I roll.

4. I don't view reaching goal as the destination to my journey. I'm living my journey daily and realize this is my life and how I've chose to live in perpetuity.

5. Continue to follow the basic tenants of the bariatric lifestyle: protein forward, healthy diet, plenty o'liquids, no drinking within 30 minutes after meals, exercise, find support in this community when needed, attend monthly support groups.

6. (sorry just one more), work everyday on remaining upbeat, positive, and finding happiness in my life and in the small moments and goals I achieve. Eradicate "all or nothing" from my life's lexicon.
Those are my focus tools. Good luck to you, and welcome back -- don't be a stranger.
