Does garlic make anybody else sick?
It is possible. My friend does not tolerate garlic.

Maybe, but I would look for other ingredients that were also in the food as the culprits before concluding that it was the garlic because garlic actually has a stomach soothing properly, especially if you were not sensitive to garlic previously. The only thing my family has taken for generations (as now do most of the people that I have told about it) for a mild to moderate upset stomach (whether because of eating something that did not agree with you, some kind of "bug" that causes nausea, or even nausea from a hangover!) are garlic oil pills.
They are available in any health food store and most groceries. Some have chlorophyll added to cut the garlic taste (because it often causes some burping). Even though most are in an oil caplet (and we do not absorb oil well post-op), that is still what I took (I just took two pills instead of one) any of the times I felt nauseous after my RNY. I was 18 months out before I threw up (and that was because I ate dry chicken too fast, so nothing would have stopped that).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Not me. I love garlic!

YES!!! It's nice to know I'm not the only one out. I'm 2+ years out and it still doesn't sit well with me, especially in large amounts. Now, if I can smell it in something new, I avoid that food. I don't k ow when your surgery was, but in time try it with protein first. Even now, a bite of garlic mashed potatoes or garlic bread means instant sickness. I guess that's good, since I shouldn't eat it anyway.
