Do the bread and potatoes with the butter but without the garlic still make you sick?

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

No, i can eat bread and butter or mashed potatoes plain, but I don't make it a habit to eat them often and I eat only a small portion.  I got sick right away from garlic potatoes since thinned mashed potatoes were on my soft foods diet. I tried them again later, to see what would happen, and I got sick again.
I got sick on garlic bread at the Olive Garden, like an idiot. For awhile i was so over eating like a WLS patient, so decided to eat it.
Im ok with eating a little differently now. I guess I realize I'm. It so special, and usually no one notices what I eat anyway. I used to think they did notice and tried to be "normal".
Anyway, the garlic thing is weird. Do you ever have a food, and as soon as you smell or taste it, you know it's going to make you sick? That's what happens to me.

I can pretty much eat almost anything with no trouble (and have been able to from the very beginning), so I have not had that experience.  There have been only 5 foods that made me sick, and one of them (bacon) is now ok as long as I only eat a little.  I still cannot eat even a very small onion ring (but obviously they are terribly unhealthy, so it isn't a big deal except that it would be nice to at least be able to have a bite of one occasionallym). It is the only thing that makes me REALLY nauseous.  I have trouble digesting a couple of other foods (e.g., skin from some apples, some types of onions) but they don't make me nauseous... they just give me gas and intestinal cramping.

Yes.  Garlic makes me sick.  The smell especially but it also gives me the gag reflex.   No, not pregnant.  I also cannot be around others that have eaten it or have it emanating from their skin pores.

This is not uncommon.
