Im more sure than ever that my issue is gallbladder related. (still waiting on approval for the HIDA scan)

I ate lunch around 1pm and about an hour later pain begain in my midsection just below my breast bone. It spread across my entire abdomen, left and right. It lasted about 4 hours then it went away as if it never happened. Im starting to be afraid to eat.

My husband has gall bladder issues.  Until you can get to have it evaluated, stay away from high and moderate fat foods (nuts, etc)..this will reduce the severity of the attacks.

Gall Bladder pain is bad. I suffered for a long time, but my pain was under my right shoulder blade not in the front at all. When they took it out they said it was very bad and must have been bad for a long time. It did not show on many tests but just before WLS they tested again and took it out. Glad it is gone now pain I had for 30 years off and on is gone. If yours is bad don't fool around get it out as soon as you can.

Ive had this pain off and on for a year and a half. It used to come and go. Now it never really goes and is flaring up when I eat. My surgeon is not convinced it is my gallbladder because its shown up normal on all tests. I, however am convinced.

My oldest daughter had all normal tests....my youngest daughter had all normal tests....my husband had all normal tests.......until their HIDA scans.  My youngest had to have hers removed in an emergency as it was not functioning AT ALL!!  She had symptoms from age 6 to age 14 before they finally did the scan.  All 3 of them had abnormal HIDA scans and ended up having their gall bladders removed in a 5 month period.

Wow Karen.
I was starting to get really frustrated because my CT scan, ultrasound and endoscopy all came back normal and i know no way is this pain normal.

Aw, I'm sorry, Solise. I know the pain of a failing gallbladder. It hurts like nobody's business. You have to eat, so do your best to keep up your food intake.

Crossing my fingers you get approval for your HIDA scan soon.

Thanx, im praying for sooner than later. The pain has never been this bad before. That tells me whatever is going on is now going from bad to worse.

I am sorry your dealing with this. I had mine removed after the birth of my first child and I swore they left something inside me and my insides were all infected! Thankfully that wasn't the case but my worst attack is when I am sure I passed a stone into my bile duct. Are you throwing up? I threw up all the time to relieve the pain the ER Dr said that was common. Ae your liver enzymes ok? Mine were out of whack. The pain, enzymes and u/s confirmed mine. Good luck watch what you eat, eat very bland foods!

I feel for you!!! I had 8 really bad attacks while my PCP was convinced it was not my gallbladder...Ha!!!!
I had to ask for a consult with a surgeon. I was afraid of eating/drinking anything towards the last. I lost 50lbs during that time (2 yrs before my WLS surgery) I immediately felt 100% better hours after it's removal. I hope you do not have to wait much longer.
