 Another food planning question!

My husband and I are going to a Murder Mystery Dinner Train event when I'm 6 1/2 weeks out. I looked over the menu, and most of it I probably won't be able to have at that stage. However, they do offer a Seasame crusted soy ginger Salmon. I think if I request a "naked" salmon, at least that will be OK. I looked over my food stages, and I definitely should be able to do that. As for the other things, I don't think I'll be able to have them, but it's fine. I just want to make sure I have a good protein. ;)

Anyone have problems with salmon at that point? I know soft white fishes are OK for my soft food stage.

UPDATE: I just booked our reservations, and found out they changed it to Stuffed Sole Supreme, which is a sole filet wrapped around a scallop and crabmeat stuffing, with a lobster cream sauce. At least it's a soft white fish!

Hi artrox,

You should be fine. Just in case, why not try some just before you go to see how it sits with you.

Hope you have fun!

Salmon is on my mushy food list... So I would say yes.  Although I will tell you I got stuck on a dry piece.  I would ask for it done medium or medium rare if you can:). Or have the flavoring on the side so you can dunk it to make it more moist.
Just had my RNY on 7.2.12!!!!  WOOHOO!!!!!

On my food plan, by 6 and 1/2 weeks, I could've had the salmon as fixed...the sesame crusted soy ginger part sounds yummy.  Just make sure you have something to "wet" it.....salmon is often dry.

And as another poster said, try it at home before you go-just to make sure.

I'm not sure I would order it naked. What they are encrusting it with sounds perfectly fine and actually ginger fights naseua so it may even help unless you don't like the soy or think that may make you too thirsty. either way the salmon should be find as long as it is prepared right.

Just a suggestion... try having some fish when you are allowed see how that goes. I loved fish before surgery but couldn't eat it until about 10 months out. Some of the fish I used to like before surgery I can't tolerate not, such as tuna and salmon.

I've always loved salmon...I'm 9 weeks out and have had it a few times and it doesn't sit very well in my pouch.  It feels really heavy.  Like some other folks said, I'd try it first if I were you! :)

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely try it before we go.

When I confirm the Myrder Mystery, they want to know ahead of time what our entree selection will be. The other option would be a boneless chicken breast stuffed with spinach and provolone, served with a tomato basil cream sauce. I thought that might be too much for me at that time. I know I wouldn't be able to eat all of it either way.
