When did you have your first "alcohol" post-op? Truthfully
I had my first drink at 7 weeks, while in Vegas for a conference. In fact, I had several drinks over the 9 days I was there. My impressions... it just doesn't "do it" for me anymore. I get loopy for like 20 minutes and then nothing. Then I have to sit there and deal with the guilt of ingesting 200 calories with out the euphoric feeling of being drunk.
Just dont' get it.

Although I doubt this is what you mean, I have wine at communion once a week.

I am half the person I was in 2008.
I am not much of a drinker so I was about 4 years out. Just a very small amount made me feel lightheaded and tipsy... and then nauseous. All sensations passed pretty quickly, though.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
3.5 months. A few sips of a Crown and Diet Coke.

How did the beer go down with the carbonation? I confess that I miss beer! Just a cold one at the end of a hot summer day, yanno?

Haven't had my first, but I'm planning it! That makes it sound as if I'm eager, and the truth is I haven't been much of a drinker for the past 20 plus years....an occassional glass of wine at dinner and one week a year when on vacation with a bunch of lady friends, I indulge in some pina coladas.
But in two weeks, when I'll be 16 weeks post-op I'm headed to Europe to visit friends. And I know we'll be wine and beer tasting. My plan is to "taste"...no more than about an ounce and see how that goes. If it proves too much, I'll just drink water and watch my friends imbibe!
