Question
An example would be today. I ate 852 calories but burned 649 from 25 minutes on the elliptical, then going the wii fit and then wii tennis.
I e-mailed my nutritionist last week to see what she said but she hasn't gotten back with me and figured I would get some of you alls opinions.

However, it's pretty much impossible to figure out exactly how many calories you burn in a day. You can find websites that estimate how many calories a person of your weight would burn doing a certain activity but those are just estimates.

If your net calories are not lower than zero, you will not lose weight. You only lose weight when you take in fewer calories than you burn. If you take in more calories than you burn, you gain weight. If you take in the same number of calories that you burn, your weight stays the same.
You probably burn 1200 calories even if all you do is sit on the couch all day. So if you add in some exercise, you could eat 1200 calories and your net calories would still be negative something.

Your basal metabolism is probably pretty high, so the extra calories burned through exercise may not be a big impact over the short term. As long as you get your protein in you shouldn't have anything to worry about regarding starvation mode.
I don't trust the calorie meters on exercise equipment, but I do find that they are useful to compare the intensity of my workouts.
