I'm only 2 weeks post-op and yup I'm having the buyers remorse.  I just want to go back to 2 weeks ago and not have this done.  I want to be able to eat whatever i want...and I know that that's how i got to be this weight but it's so hard.

I also drink and drink it seems and am only doing 40 of my 64 oz. still.  Ugh!

Question:  Please tell me that this buyers remorse goes away before I go insane?

Question:  Will I really be able to start eating stuff like a piece of pizza or something in like a year or when?

Sorry guys to vent but this is so frustrating.

The buyers remorse usually goes away.  I've known very few people to say they regretted having surgery after they were a few months out.

You'll probably be able to eat stuff like pizza, yeah.  In fact, I had pizza tonight for dinner!  Frozen pizza, but California pizza kitchen brand.  I had two small pieces and it was pretty yummy!

Each day gets easier.  Most of us have experienced this feeling.

You will be able to eat a slice of pizza in time.  Just remember that food will always be there and you can have it later.

Let your new tool do its job now.  The fact you can't eat those foods you used to is because #1 you are still healing, #2 You want to lose the weight and #3 you want and need to learn to have a new relationship with food so you can have long term success.

You can do this and it will be worth it!  Keep reminding yourself of the initial reasons for your RNY!

Good luck

First two weeks I wanted to eat everything, from every commercial on tv, I just wanted to shove my face but could only have some sf pudding lol.

Honestly I had a 1/2 a piece of pizza last night. I'm 3 months out. I mostly eat the toppings but thats the good part anyway. I can eat a burger or sandwich at a restaurant I just don't have the bread only the meat and toppings and well I only eat about 1/5 of it.
I eat a lot of normal foods, just only a little bit of them and not everyday.

Most of the days I stick to only very healthy foods but I've made the system work for my life. I like to eat out, so I learned how to go out to eat post-op. At first is all I could eat at restaurant was soup so that's what I ordered. Then I gradually able to add variety. At 3 months out, I can eat almost anything but just a tiny tiny bit and I'm careful but haven't had any trouble thus far.

Make your system work for you. I have set guidelines which make me feel like I can do this.
1) Either 1 desserts or two alcoholic drinks per week.
2) Pasta or bread or rice with a meal once a week- be VERY careful until you know how you're able to handle carbs. I can't handle more than literally 10 bow tie pasta pieces.
3) No drive thrus, fast food joints, high calorie beverages, soda, or candy.

Right now you're only 2 weeks out so you have to be extra safe and only eat what is on the plan because you're healing but it looses up in a couple of months!

You can do this, cuz if you can I can . This won't be an easy journey but it will be fun. Use the search tool and search pics or NSC. I find those give me lots of encouragement..I am only in the 1st shake only andfeelingchallenged ,butreadingthose posts gives me resolve.

You have a brand new tiny little tummy. You will probably not be able to get all of your liquid in this soon. It's ok :) as Dory would say, just keep swimming ...
As for wanting to eat everything, I have nothing! I'm ten months out and still struggle with eating solid proteins but!!!!! I would still have done this .. So far I've lost 130 pounds and that wouldn't have happened without this surgery. I think you are just going to want to take it one day at a time.. Sometimes it's an hour at a time. One day you will wake up and think to yourself.. Huh, I feel pretty good today. I hope that happens for you sooner rather than later. Just remember to be kind to yourself. It does take some getting used to.

I am 6 weeks since surgery. Everyday I look around me and see what everyone else is eating.  However, I am nearly 40lbs down now and all I can say that is vindication within itself.  My clothes are too big and the ones I haven't fit into for years are starting to fit again. This will be short-lived as those ones too will get too big soon.  Think of the positives only, like how great you'll feel.  I have alot more energy, stairs don't bother me anymore, my self-confidence is back up again since I now know I am conquering this lifetime issue of mine.

We cannot physically eat like we used to, and that's a good thing.  I "smell" alot of the food that are tempting, and right now that is good enough.  The liquids are tough, I"m not getting in even 30oz. a day right now.  Between the pureed foods, protein shakes and water I am struggling to get it all in.

I tell you what, this is the BEST money I've ever spent, no buyer's remorse here!

I am 5 weeks out and I still have it.  I want to be able to eat what I want and just be able to chew it normally. I want to eat without stuff getting stuck and coming back up.i want to just ask my surgeon if he can reverse it.

I hope it goes away soon.

Revision on 05/17/12
I am about 3 1/2 months out I thought oh I can handle this no biggie..I'm having revision done it can't be that bad.  I had major buyers remorse for he first 4weeks.  I got over that when i saw the weight coming off and I was no longer in pain from my band.I would say at about week 8 buyers remorse whats that....I feel so much better now.  You will in time get all of your liquids in.  I was finally able to drink water last month with out feeling like I was going to die.  I have had more water in the last two days than I have had in the 3 1/2 months.  It gets better and easier hang in there.  By no means am I a pro but feel free to message me if you need help.
