Update!

Some of you may have no idea what I'm talking about here, but many of you asked for updates.  I recently posted about whether or not to contact the on call surgeon.  Well I did just that and they admitted me yesterday evening for severe dehydration, nausea, and vomiting.  Being 5 weeks post op, this was not a good sign.

So, this morning I had an upper GI done with the barium swollow.  Everything looked fine.   I also had an Endoscopy.  That too looked fine.  Huge sigh of relief because it looks as though everything surgery related looks great!

However, the now mystery is what this feeling is in the back of my throat that makes me feel like I have something stuck.  It's sort of where the epiglottis is, but they said that shouldn't be swollen as my surgery was 5 weeks ago and it would not still be irritated from the breathing tube they put in you during surgery.  In addition, this is a symptom that only showed up in the past 10 days.  So, tomorrow I will hopefully be seeing ENT to see if they can find anything in my throat that is irritated.  Whatever it is, it makes me want to vomit consistently.  It's REALLY weird.

Anyway, will update again tomorrow when I hear from ENT.  Thanks to everyone for your support and kind words!

What a good thing it was not anything surgery related that needed more attention, but now on to find the real problem.  Good Luck.
Thank God for the wonderful gift of WLS.  Use it wisely as the tool it is meant to be and hold yourself accountable for the rest of the journey!!!

When i was pregnant with my daughter I had that feeling in the back of  my throat it was like the hangy ball thing was swollen, it was horrible.... My OBGYN then said it was hormones and dehydration swelling it...lasted about a week and then went away.

I don'tk now if it is the same...mine I could move and felt swollen.   I hope they find the reason for yours and that you are feeling better very soon... I drank really cold water seemed to help me a little.

This is further back in my throat.  BUT I wouldn't be surprised if it is hormones!  Thanks for your post!

Well I have had this problem since my surgery. Have them check your uvula. They split mime during surgery. And now I feel like there is something back there 27/7.... I'm on my way for a second opinion ... Did u feel this as soon as you woke up from surgery?  My next step is a lawyer.
