Failed the nuclear stress test
You need to tell your cardiac doctor however we can take these medications without problems!! If you are followed by your physicians and take a PPI along with these meds it is fine.
HOWEVER -
You may not even need any treatment! Go with a positive attitude and see what happens from there. The point I was trying to make is that you were aware of it. A friend of my had RNY and then ended up with a pacemaker - takes coumadin for anticoagulation. And he is fine and follows with his doctor.
Good luck, don't stress over it just make sure your are armed with all the knowledge possible.

You do not even need a PPI with anticoagulents. I have been on Coumadin since 1979 and am a heavy duty researcher, so there is very little that I do not know about anticoagulents. they do not CAUSE or increase the chances of any kind of gastric ulcer or other bleeding. They only cause more bleeding if you dvelop a bleed from something else.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Taking anticoagulants is no different for RNY folks than anyone else! They do not CAUSE bleeding... they only make the bleeding more difficult to stop if you develop it from so something else (an ulcer, if you cut yourself, bruise yourself, etc.)
There is nothing for the cardiologist to "know". A number of us with RNY have had blood clot problems in the past and take anticoagulents every single day. I have been taking Coumadin since 1979 and since my RNY 5 years ago.
