I haven't had a protein shake in two weeks. I've been getting all my protein through real food and feel better.

Hard boiled or scrambled eggs are a pretty cheap, calorie dense source of protein - can you tolerate them? If not how about getting some boneless skinless cubed chicken breasts and cooking them in water on the stove and seasoning them with salt and pepper and putting them in single serving containers? I do this and put them in my freezer so I have a ready made source of protein. I look for sales on chicken breast and if I'm lucky I score them for buy 1 get 1 free. Also consider ricotta cheese, greek yogurt, and beans. Best of luck to you! I hope you find what works.

Do you have a plan from your Dr.? Are you following it?

I have never done shakes. I do dense protien. Steak, pork, pot roast, chicken etc. and I work out almost every day. Even of it just a little bit, say 20-30 minutes, but I get my body moving and try to work up a sweat. That's what helped me.

I got sick of the shakes too. My doc suggested adding in small protein snacks thoughout the day. He suggested beef jerky which I don't care for but the kind I found at Walmart has 14 g of protein per 1 ounce serving.

If you can find them, Jack Links Steak Nuggets (I know Rite Aid and Family Dollar have them). They are similar to beef jerky but much more tender and easier to chew. 10 grams of protein per 1 ounce serving. Also eggs with bacon bits. Mix a little unflavored protein mix into sf pudding for a protein pudding snack. Also an ounce of nuts has protein.

I use protein powder in coffee in the morning. I put 2 scoops for 46 grams of protein in the morning. I use Torani Caramel, and Simply Right protein (vanilla) and a packet of Equal then zoom zoom with my hand blender.
