A Very Frightening Thing

Yesterday I trashed my knees working out. I'm not sure which part of the day did it, but they were / are horribly painful.  I couldn't sleep last night because turning over in bed caused pain. Tylenol didn't help, so after a while I took some of the pain meds I got after surgery.
I vaguely remember waking up all through the night going to get something to drink - but evidently I also ate. And Ate. AND ATE.     I had a dish of Protein Power Balls (Nik's recipe) and they are gone. I live alone.  A Quest bar - gone.

Even if I was sleep / drugged eating, where was the restriction or sickness? Those protein power balls are one thing that satisfy me pretty quickly?

I am thinking I will deal with pain before I take whatever that was again.

"Sleep eating" can be an issue for some post ops when they take some forms of sleeping pills. The sleep medication Ambien has had several posts here about this issue.  Do you already take a sleep medication?  I could be the combo of the sleep med and the pain med.  I know my wife had some issues with Trazadone with eating in the middle of the night after her revison, but it was relatively short lived. I have done sleep eating....my brain does not seem to register the discomfort of restriction.   I no longer take a full dose of ambian.

Ambein is the WORST! I actually made a steak in the middle of the night & had no memory of it the next day. I quit taking that medication because of that. Sleep walking/eating is dangerous in itself.

It was some kind of liquid lortab I think. It was what I was sent home with from my surgery a year ago. It is gone now, not only did it seemingly make me night crazy it did absolutely nothing for my pain (regular Lortab pre-op never touched pain either). No loss.
Just stinking scary!

How odd.  That's the first time I have heard of someone doing something like that with pain medication, let alone something fairly mild like Lortab.  (It happens with hypnotic sleep medications, though.) How much of it did you take??

I definitely don't deny it was odd. Lortab has never touched any pain it has been prescribed for......

I took the prescribed Tbs full.  I did have a xanax, but that was an hour or so before, so I don't really count it.  I have been told I talk and walk in my sleep, that I did it lots as a kid / teen - but never eating, taht I know of?

The combination of Xanax and the Lortab would probably explain it, even if you took the Xanax an hour earlier.  Taking multuiple meds with depressant type actions can result is all sorts of things.
