For some off reason for the first few weeks post off my sense of smell was greatly amplified and as a result food taste were different. My wife is experience the same thing. I am months out now and think things have mostly returned to normal, or perhaps I am just used to it now.

I haven't had this experience.  I will say even before I opened your thread I wondered "B vitamin problems".

When were your last labs?  Do you have copies?  I don't know a lot about Celiac Disease, IMO it seems to be the current go to when anything is wrong; I may be wrong I've been wrong before .  I know it exist and have read some about it because of the many post I've seen on various WLS boards about having it OR thinking someone has it.

I have this. Strawberries, apples, pineapple, citrus can all make it a lot worse.

I have very similar issues with my tongue and taste buds, plus a weird film on the roof of my mouth. Everything I eat, including plain water has a distinct, annoying metalic taste too. I'm guessing it has something to do with Zinc or Iron, or something!

I have had geographic tongue for 28 years. It seems to flare around that time of the month. As far as I know, I do not have celiac. I remember reading that geographic tongue doesn't last for very long but after so many years, I think the book was wrong! :)

from what i know about geographic tongue, it can be genetic as well. my mom has it, as does my grandmother. and one of my mom's good friends, and her mom. my mom has had it her whole life, but i just recently found out about it because i guess it isn't something you necessarily talk about and i never really looked at her tongue lol.

I also have a geographic tongue.  Doesn't bother me much just when I eat citrus.  I think it runs on my mom's side of the family.

One thing to also consider that creates tongue irritation is low iron.
When my iron was really low, my tongue would just burn like it was raw.  Heme dr. stated it was a side effect of having low iron.

I torture my tongue because I love lemons, but I do notice it is dry now since I started menopause, I am 7+ years out and really don't believe my issues are related to vitamins.
