The tortilla was too much...

I was so excited to have tortillas again, and made myself a breakfast quesadilla this morning. Ugh...the tortilla was just a little too much. My pouch feels so full right now, so I'm just waiting for everything to pass through. I think next time, I'll just have half of one. Chalk this up to another adventure in my pouch!

Oh, yes, tortillas. They can be your best friend or your worst enemy if you're too early out. Your idea of trying half of one is smart, but no worries you'll be able to consume a whole one(the small 6-inch kind) in a few months. I'm 7 months out and can eat one with just about anything inside. I have one almost everyday with melted cheese and jalepeno sauce. Its just as good as a Taco Bell quesedilla without all the extra fat and bulk. I get the sauce from Taco Bell when my family wants to eat there. Its delicious.

Good luck with your journey and keep up the good work! :)

I haven't tried it yet, but wonder if a corn tortilla might break down more easily than flour.  The flour become so gummy and gluten-y.  There's really not much fat in a corn tortilla either.

I just ate my egg tortilla with mushrooms, cheese, onions, and ham.  They can get a little too large when you add all the extras.  The Mexican seasonings with salsa etc. are way too much for me.  I can't take the spicey stuff.

OMG how did you fit that big ole tortilla in a little pouch... I eperienced that with a yellow tail tuna which was really dry I ate it too fast and did I ever regret it. so now I take in smaller and wait to see if it was enough. it usually is though and I am satisfied for a couple hours. Just take it slow with the new food...

It was a fajita-sized tortilla (about 8"). It was what I had on hand. Next time, I'll make sure I have some smaller ones or cut this one in half. Oof. LOL

I thought that when you posted about them. But I kept it to myself mostly because it's a lesson best learned from experience.

TREAD SLOWLY with new foods, especially starches. It's not just the carbs/weight loss thing you have to worry about. That's a lot for your pouch to take on. Be gentle to your pouch. :)

Hugs and I hope it passes soon.

 Thank you :)

My mother says I'm hard-headed, so I have learn from my own mistakes. I was just so excited to work in some other carbs that I underestimated the tortilla. It's a work in progress, right? LOL

i eat the small, low carb tortillas (i think tosando's brand or something like that).  each one is only 50 calories, and i usually don't eat a whole one.  i do lettuce wraps a lot with my refried beans but sometimes i just want a tortilla!
