SEVERAL fun NSVs at 14mths out

HEHEHEHEHE What a great week!

    Drove up to Tennessee to visit a friend and had an NSV great time!

Not fun - losing your cell phone in your dumpster of a truck when the phone has your directions on it.  Fortunately for the first time ever the GPS was right and got me where I needed to be. So I'm standing in my friend's driveway at 930pm looking for my phone, turn and close the door and realize it is locked. My friend's hubby finally was able to get the sliding window in the back glass of the cab opened. Now then - he is way too big (like 6'4), his wife unable to even get in the bed of the truck - that leaves me.  I decided maybe I could at least reach the back door handle. NOPE.. I crawled all the way through the window into the front seat!! WOOOT!!  I  kinda wanted to crawl back through the window to get out lol

  The next day my friend and I drove up the mountain to waterfalls. We hiked a mile out and back - easy trails but steady slopes. No problem.  Then we hiked a half mile down to the base of the falls... steps to begin with, and then boulders, roots, slopes and rock slides.  Woo hoo!!! It was cruising going down, then at the bottom I looked waaay up and realized we had to take the same route back. Guess what?   I intentionally chose the more difficult trail that ran parallel to the trail my friend was on and when she had to rest I would climb rocks, back track to where she was and climb back up to my trail. I had the BEST time and while I was tired at the end of the day, I was extremely happy.

  Thursday we did much easier day of walking, but walked further - a couple of miles out by a river, then back. In between we climbed out on the boulders and jumped rocks to get to the middle of the river and just sit.

What a great trip......chock full of reminders of why this is all worth while!!
