Sardines...hope I don't regret it!

Not the best choice, I know.  I have been craving canned sardines since I had surgery just over 4 weeks ago.  I ate one and a half sardines and so far, no problem.  Because of the fat content of the olive oil, I know that this isn't something that I should do often...but once in a blue moon won't kill me.  At least as long as my pouch agrees. Now I'm praying that I don't suffer from dumping or anything like that!

I love sardines also and starting having some at week 6.  My nut said it is fine and I normally mix it with some avocado.  I know they are higher in fat but it is a good fat which is good for you skin, hair and nails.  I have them about once every other week.

You have to have some fat, olive oil is a good fat & sardines are very high in calcium & protein so I think they are a good choice. I don't eat them but don't see any harm in eating 1 1/2 sardines.

I eat them in mustard sauce with 6 whole grain crackers. Half a can each meal and I do really good with them. I still get enough protein and get my craving taken care of. Enjoy!
