I was up early this morning to workout with the trainer at 0830.  Before I could leave I had to get the horses put up so if the farrier got to them before I was home he could start.  Trainer workout was a good one - she did honor my request to not run today since I have a 5k tomorrow and it would just get my knees all fired up.

5min elliptical warmup
 then 10 sprints, over 200spm, 45sec sprint, 15sec rest

circuit 10,9,8,7,..... 1
15lb dumb bell thruster drop downs
20lb incline chest press
plank pulls (wide grip, narrow, underhand, wide underhand, etc)

After the workout I met the farrier, finished up the horses, helped my mom and went to counseling. I adore my counselor, it was a tough session but I left feeling ok.  Lunch, massage, then going to try my hand at hanging a fence for my 91yr old neighbor.

I was tired of being on the elliptical so I did an hour long Vinyasa yoga practice this morning. I'd forgotten how much I enjoy early-morning yoga. I feel all creaky and gross at the beginning and by the end my body feels awake and ready for the day. There aren't any classes around here early enough that I can go before work, so I have a few flow courses on MP3 to use as a guide for home practice. Really nice on those "it's-cold-and-I-don't-wanna" mornings.

  • Breakfast: Coffee
  • Lunch: 3.5 oz. grilled chicken with raw green peppers and broccoli
  • Snack: Kashi protein and fiber bar
  • Dinner: Something simple like eggs or quesadillas. It has been a long week.
  • Snack: Another protein bar
  • Snack II: Strawberry yogurt

I am at the office for now, but tonight I'll clean out one more closet in the house and then work on my project for National Novel Writing Month (www.nanowrimo.org). 50,000 words in one month is really, really daunting but I'm almost at 10,000. Hoping to pick up the pace over the long weekend. If I can get to 20,000 over the holiday it would be awesome, but realistically I'm probably looking at more like 15,000. We'll see.

Have a happy Friday all! My husband bought me these pretty flowers so I will share them with all of you:

Lori - Good luck on the 5K, hope your knees hold up!

Neen - What a sweet hubs!

I have a sick kiddo, he's on his second day home from school. I'm sick, but working. When my husband gets home I'm going out for a run. I have a feeling I'll be feeling even worse tomorrow and won't want to do anything, so I'll put in a quick 3 mile run. I'll do the same thing I did yesterday, after 3 miles, I give myself permission to quit and go home. That's all I had in me yesterday, and I anticipate today will be the same.

Eats

Breakfast - Protein coffee

Lunch - About 3/4 of a 6 inch sub from Subway (yep, I ate the bread and yep, it was tasty)

Not sure about dinner - I'm still full from lunch - I have leftover black beans from earlier in the week so maybe black beans and homemade pico de gallo?

He is the best. I've been cleaning out our house like a madwoman (getting rid of old furniture, shredding paper files, packing up old clothes/books/games/housewares for charity pick-up) and he bought them just to make me smile and thank me for making our home look nice.
