malabsorption

In other diseases where malabsorption is present, the result is bulky, fatty  loose stools.   Does anyone know why that does not happen in post ops who malabsorb?

I would guess that the difference is that we have a very specific portion of our intestine that is bypassed but the rest of it remains intact and fully functioning (as opposed to something that affects the intestinal system more generally).
