The more I eat the more I lose

I hate to admit it but I usually never eat as much as I should.  I rarely meet all my protein requirements (I'm probably average about 75% to plan).  I have a hard time drinking 64 oz per day (I drink about 32-48 on average).  I am NEVER hungry and rarely thirsty.

Yes, I need to improve all the above.  My weight loss has been good for 4 months out.  I had a really good eating day yesterday (probably 900 calories) and lost a pound over night.

Strange how the body works sometimes.  I've eaten like a horse for 2 years now I am afraid to eat at all, which is truly counterproductive.  I guess my point is will I ever stop fearing food?  I feel so good right now (skinny clothes, more energy, zero to mild joint pain, sleeping better) that I am afraid I'll blow it.

Just a vent.  Thanks for reading.  Everyone on here is great.

Your stats are exactly as mine.  I had surgery in June, weight was 232, have lost only 46 lbs. and stay constantly in fear that weight will come back. I don't enjoy eating now, just eat to live.  I wonder if I will ever enjoy a meal again.  I sometimes miss that feeling especially when eating out.  I feel so much better now.  I am 5'3" and 58 yr old ..  I want to get to 145 and then I'll see how I feel.  I also have trouble getting in all of protein and liquids.  Found GNC Lean Protein shakes.  They are the bomb!  All other drinks were yucky to me.  These have 2 g sugar and 25 g protein.  So helpful.  Congrats on your stats!  I'll see you on the loser's bench!

I'm happy with the weight loss so far.  It's effortless.  I am actually about 5 pounds ahead of my surgeon's expectation at 4 months (42 pounds was his goal at this point).  I just started bootcamp 3X/week which will really rev up the weight loss.  I just need to eat better.

Good luck to you.  You're doing great!!

I lost my weigh very consistently. Not many stalls. Then I realized that I did a lot of calorie cycling days - low calorie days mixed with high and moderate. That way my body never knew how much it would get - so never really hold the weight. Google calorie cycling. There is lot of info about that on the net. I also seamed to lose most weight after a higher calorie day.
My average in first few months was 600, then 800, and farther out 1000. With days that I only got 600 and days that I got close to 2000. (Year out)

I've been finding the days I eat more, I usually lose more. Unless I get my period--everything stops. LOL

This is true, eating more for us helps us better.  I really am trying to meet my daily goal of proteins from 60-80grams.  I struggle somedays though, I won't lie.  I know my weight loss is right on par and I am happy with my progress thus far.  I was 299lbs the day I went in for surgery and now I am at 248lbs.  I lost a few pounds the two weeks prior to surgery and feel great at a total of 63lbs loss.

It's funny, I've noticed when the scale stops for a little while, my clothes get bigger again.  It's like a delayed reaction, lose weight/stop losing weight, inches come off, once inches come off, start to lose weight again.  It's been fun.  I was at the high end of a size 24/3X and now I am ready to buy a size 18! or 1X!!! So excited

Yes, it is true. You need to eat to lose, yet people consistently doubt the vets when we tell them that they are losing slowly because they are not eating enough. Never had ANYONE come back and say they upped their calories a bit and did NOT start losing more quickly (except people in the middle of a stall... Sometimes there isn't anything you can do to break a stall).

Excellent advice.  Thanks!

It's a struggle but I am going to just schedule my meals and eat even if I don't feel like it.
