Constant diarrhea after surgery?

Hey everyone... I have been home almost two days now and everything I drink for my liquid diet I have diarrhea.. is this normal for everyone or not normal? It is really frustrating.

I am three weeks post op and had the same problem.  It did subside after a few days.  Now, I have more of the opposite problem!

Liquids in = liquids out.  Plus I heard that the surgeon uses something to flush the intestines and that cause diarrhea.  Mine lasted about 2 weeks and since then it's mainly constipation.

water in=water out. It will subside once you can start to add a little bulk in the form of a more solid food.

I had diarrhea for a few days after surgery, but then, like above said, the opposite happened. I am hoping that the whole bathroom thing will even out once I am eating normally again. I am still liquids for a few more days, then soft food, so we will see !! It is normal!! One day at a time :-)

Are you drinking milk??  I became lactose intolerant after my surgery!

like everyone else said, liquids in = liquids out. I miss the days of diarrhea.....

I had the same problem.  When I went for follow up 1o days postop, my surgeon recommended a couple of doses of pepto bismol.  The problem resolved within 2 days.
