Yeah, it stinks. We knew it might happen, so it wasn't a complete shock. However, on the upside, we'll be getting the rest of his pay from the last month, which hopefully will keep us afloat through the holidays. I hate layoffs.

Oh man, what a bummer. My husband was laid off in January 2009, we lost 2/3 of our household's income. He was able to find some part-time work (albeit at far less pay) pretty quickly but it was 2 years before he found full-time work again. I hope that's not the case for your family and he's not out long!

Hugs!

My heart and prayers go out to you and our family. I went part time to go back to school and then right after that my husband lost his job. It took almost 2 years for him to get full time employment. It was brutal. I feel your pain.

It is a sad day when anyone get's laid off.  I received my notice in August with a termination date at the end of March (facility closure).  I was very fortunate to find an alternative position in October.  I took it and never looked back.  Prayers that your hubby finds a new employer quickly!

Thanks everyone. This is his third layoff in the last two years, and before that, he and I both were out of work almost a year and a half before he found the first job. It's just a crazy time we live in! ;)

I'm really sorry to hear that. My full-time job is very much in danger if these damn sequestration defense cuts happen next January (and I am single so have no one else to help pay the bills). I hate what the spend-happy government has done to the people of this country.

I hope he finds another position soon. (I have already been looking for something else for several months...)
