What did you wish you knew before surgery?
Surgery weight was 295. Current weight is 239. That's a loss of 56 pounds. I don't think that's a satisfactory result of damaging my body for life.
I stopped losing weight nearly four months ago. I did lose three pounds in November, finally. I follow the rules, I exercise as much as I can with my disability, and I struggle, fight, and suffer every day.
Yes, I look more normal and am healthier and more mobile 56 pounds lighter, but as I said, that's a poor payoff for the investment.
Ok I can see where you are frustrated it's coming off slow. Hopefully the 3 lbs lost in November will help turn the frustration into a more positive situation. Don't discount the weight you loss before surgery though, YOU DID lose that weight.
Hang in there. Has your surgeon given you any direction? Are you eating enough, too much? Drinking enough? How about logging? Just throwing things out there......if I can do anything to help I'd like to offer my help.

Thank you so much, Cajungirl. I expect to be battered about the head and shoulders for speaking my truth, so your kind understanding means a lot to me.
Not battered...but it is hard for us to help when you throw out a statement like that with no back up info.
We are here to help. I still think you might not be looking at this positively. While you may be a slow loser, you may also keep this weight off when before, if you are like many of us, you gained-lost-gained-lost.....
If you are following the rules, keep trucking. YOU WILL SEE IT COME OFF.
I'm sorry that you aren't losing as fast as you would like to, but I took the time to read past posts of yours because I thought that I remembered that you were a revision. I didn't find that but I did read where you have posted several times that you were eating junk and slipping back into bad habits because you 'weren't losing anyway'.
You are only going to get out of this what you put into it. We ALL experience amounts of time when our bodies don't drop pounds for a few weeks, or even a month. That doesn't mean give up the plan and eat bad choices because you didn't lose.
I don't want to be rough on you, but I really think that you need to read this post.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
There are statements above that really concern as I am schedules for surgery in just a few days. Statements about being so hungry, about not losing weight, about just not doing it again if they had known any information. Yikes! What if I am making the wrong decision?
