Protein Shakes (How many do you consume a day?)

How many protein shakes do you consume a day? & how many months/years post op are you? I recently decided to add one or two protein shakes in my diet a day instead of my snacks. I guess I'm pretty picky in what I like to eat & am finding it hard to find options for me that don't include carbs. I'm eating way too much dairy products especially cheese with my pintos & ham & cheese roll ups & quiche. I tried 2 samples from syntrax matrix that I really liked & bought a 2lb tub of each. Hoping to get things jump started again as my weight has been stubborn the past 2 months now.

Zero. They're not in my plan and I've never even tried one.

I am going to start including one protein shake in my day because I am only consuming 700 cals per day and only about 35 gms of protein.

The amount I drink varies. Most days I drink one...add protein powder to hot chocolate or coffee, which I drink first thing in morning. Occasionally, I may do 2, or none.

I am almost 20mo post op --

I drink 2 protein drinks a day -
40gms each
Isopure RTD - Green Tea

1 for breakfast and 1 around 3 ish - ( 3pm one sometimes I only drink half)

Light lunch and light dinners -

Occasional snacks - I am not perfect - have not cut out junk completely - I just eat much less of it.
I figure I get a good amount of protein in with my drinks - so most of meals do not revolve around protein - its whatever I feel like eating - good - bad - or indifferent....

You stole my answer!

Same here. There are rare occasions where (mostly for the sake of Bariatric Foodie) I consume more than one shake a day but that's rare. Otherwise on weekdays I usually have one for breakfast. On weekends I rarely drink them. Heck on weekends my protein intake resembles a reasonable persons! I strive for 120-150g/day on weekdays. Weekends I eat way more veggies and land somewhere around 70. Moderation.

I use them for pre and post work out.  Good combo of calories, carbs and protien.   If it is a rest day maybe none.  It just depends on my needs for the day.  :-)   I am about a year and a half out.

7 months out very seldom have a shake. Get my protein from regular food. Only time I take a shake is when I am on the go and don't have time to cook something.
