So, my husband has had Ulcerative Colitis for 10 years and the past year he's been dealing with flares of varying magnitude. As I write, we're in the ER again (3x this year) for dehydration. 2 bags of saline and a dose of Zofran..and 4 hours later..... I'm getting a little bit of compassion fatigue and he's damn lucky that I love him, because here I sit in an ER for what should have been preventable, had he JUST LISTENED to ME and kept up his hydration!!!! Ugh..... In sickness & in health, right?

Oh, I so know this tune. My husband has some chronic health issues and I can predict when he's headed for trouble but he seems to turn a blind eye to the consequences and then not only is he affected negatively, but me also. Ugh!

Men! LOL

I'm sorry to hear your at the ER for this. One of my brothers has Crohn's disease, and has similar issues from time to time. Keeping you in my thoughts! :)

My grandparents had 8 children and out of 8 children 7 have Crohns and or colitis.... My uncle has been in the hospital 20 months out of the last 24 months... He has been through hell and back!  Had to get an illiostomy has had 8 surgeries in the months he has been there, each surgery lasting more then 12 hours.  His body keeps developing fistures from the intestine to the wound opening...they have been letting him heal from the inside out... has a hole in his intestine up by the gallbladder that they still need to go in and fix but can't until he heals from the last surgery, so they have a tube by his gallbladder to divert the bile...

I could write a whole book on the crap he has had done to him in the last two years.... :(

I'm sorry your hubby isn't well... I told you all of the above to say... I know what it is like, your not alone and it could be very much worse so I am happy its just hydration and not anything worse.  Healing vibes to your hubster.
