Things I've learned my first holiday season as a post-op...
That's awesome! I know how hard that can be--especially if you're the one doing all of the cooking.
For me, the family stress is complex, and it's compounded by other issues out of anyone's control. It's just a matter of keeping busy and limiting my time with those individuals. It's more difficult since it involves my mother, but it's like a light bulb went off in my head Christmas morning, and it started making sense. Oh well...at least I'm actually aware of it now. LOL

Great Job, this was also my 1st Christmas after surgery but I am only 2weeks out so could only eat soft foods, I did really well making the food and bringing it to my xmas, and only eating the potatoes, and green beans until I got home and had some family problems, being the emotional eater that I am went straight to the cheesy potatoes for more and ended up getting sick, it's a hard lesson to learn! But other than that I did it!!!!
For me thanksgiving was harder than Christmas due to the type of food. For Christmas we have ham because that is what my hubby wants which was fine. I bought myself a small 4 oz lobster tail for $3.00 and had that. I did make roasted veggies and was ok as I didn't make my favorite rum balls this year either. For stuff we got a work, I saved it all us and brought it to our parties and shared with everyone. I have enjoyed a small glass of wine 2 days the last week however.
