Hmmmm - this is a tough one.  One word for the whole year.  I was thinking about resolutions earlier today.  I'm thinking that MAINTENANCE would be the best word for me.  I really need to ingrain my new habits this year so that I don't slip into bad habits.  I need to maintain all my new eating habits and exercise habits and new work habits.  Work around the house habits. The paid ones are already good.  I noticed that I had really let the yard go and I've been working heavily on improving that.  I need to really keep up on things so It all doesn't get this bad anymore.  Great suggestion.

My word is strength.  The strength to continue on my journey and overcome my new food issues with the help of my therapist and the strength to do all I can to be successful in my weight loss and exercise.

I have been pondering an answer to your question all day! You made me really think, which can be very dangerous. My 2013 word?? Persevere.

Wishing you a wonderful New Years!!

My word is "CHANGE". Lots of changes will be coming. I will have my surgery, graduate from high school, go to college, and move out of my house. All very scary but necessary.

I do this too!

Last year my word was simplify. I cut out 1 of my 2 jobs & even went part time at my main job. It was tough losing income, but by simplifying my professional world, it gave me quality family time which is priceless.

This year's word is ME. I'm taking charge of me & my body. I will make myself top priority, as hard as that is, while still being a wife & mother.

Happy New Year! 2013 WILL be the Best ever!

The first word that came to mind "PATIENCE" with myself, my children, my family and my weight loss. My sisters favorite saying " life is a journey enjoy it" this next year I want to take a step back and enjoy life not rush through it.

Forgiveness... I think it's something we all need to allow ourselves as we continue our journey to make changes in our lives. We all slip up from time to time and sometimes we are so caught up in feeling mad/disappointed/angry at ourselves and it's ok to forgive ourselves and move on as we strive to do better.

I'm going to think about this today. The first word that came to mind was "Now" as in be in the now, in the moment, and focus on being present. I love to have a mantra to focus on. I had a necklace made for myself that says "I'm my own hero" like my profile says. It helps me remember that I can do anything I need to and I'm strong enough to save myself and make my life exactly the way I want it to be. This year I think I'll add to that with the "word of the year" like you said. Simple and great idea! Thanks!

I am my own hero...I save myself one day, one meal, one bite, one choice, one challenge, one step at a time...
