I am three weeks post-op so the bills are now starting to come in. I am shocked at the total cost for my care over the past month...

Total cost of surgery = $70,000 +

My out of pocket cost  $2,000'

Thank god for insurance! I feel like I won the lottery.

Wow!!  This is really BIG business!!  It's amazing the numbers of people that I see, on clinic days and it's never the same ones.

My out of pocket is $350.00 my insurance covers the surgery . I found it odd that it would cover the surgery but not weight loss programs like weigh****chers.

My out of pocket was $161.  After 10 years of trying to get his surgery covered I feel blessed.

Wow I thought mine was high at 55,000, yes I am very thankful for my insurance as well, I also paid 2,000 out of pocket.

It will hurt. It will take time. It will require dedication. It will require willpower. It requires sacrifice. There will be temptation. But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's WORTH IT! (Author Unknown). I feel this sums up my ongoing journey to a healthier me!

Is it bad that I never open those envelopes? (I think that might be bad. I'm terrible about paperwork.) I paid $600 out of pocket for the post-surgical mandatory support and nutrition groups and a $500 in-patient treatment co-pay.

Come visit me on my blog, Through a Cooking Glass! I talk about my journey through WLS and learning to live, cook, and eat on the other side.

Wow, you guys have it great! I have to pay $5000. $2000 for the co-pay & $3000 for the out of pocket max. No complaints though, I'm 5 weeks out & feel better than I have in years.
