****rogirl and Kim S.
Thank you both for making me realize what I was doing. i have just been so frustrated, as I have been at a stall for more than two months now and wanted to try something. One thing I did realize by doing this, (though I did stop after I read both your posts) was that I NEED to eat my protein first. I was eating a salad before my protein, then I would be hungry a hour later and didn't know why. Since I started eating my protein first, I have been staying full for about three hours and that is usually the time I would eat. I am taking your advice and exercising, taking my vitamins and drinking my water. Getting my water in is the hardest because I work in a clinic and am busy so don't always have time to get a drink, if you know what I mean but I think I will just have to start taking drinks between each patient. I mean it only takes a few seconds, right. Thanks again so much.
Glad to be able to help. Surgery leads to SO many behavioral/mental/physical/food changes and it takes a while (and sometimes takes a little help from friends) to get "settled in". My primary rule is "protein first always" (and, yes, in my case, even over 5 years out, I still eat most of my protein before more than just a couple of bites of anything else at EVERY meal) and I really believe that it has contributed greatly be being able to keep the weight off.
It sounds like you are on track!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
