Excited! Today for lunch I am having my first attempt with salad, and I am pretty stoked. I have been wanting a salad for 1.5 months, and now I feel comfortable enough to try! I had some lettuce wrapped around my mini chicken burger last night and it was a hit. I haven't had one thing that I cannot tolerate since surgery and I have never thrown up or anything. Other than this pain I am having under my ribs on my back, I haven't had any issues. Wish me luck! Yummy I can't wait!

Surgery Day to first week post op- Full Liquids

1 week-2nd week Post op- Smooth Consistency

2nd-3rd Post Op- Soft Foods, Slowly adding all foods back in one at a time.

So I've been on soft foods, adding all foods back in for 2 weeks now, and I've had no issues with anything. They told us if your scared to try a food, try it anyway. You'll never know until you try. So I try just a bite and give it time to sit, then if all is well then I eat it. I've had no issues and I have tried a lot of different things. They told us we do not need to ask permission to eat certain foods, just try it, and test it out. I just read all my labels, watch my sugar and fat keep them where they said, get as much protein added in where I can, eat my 1/2 cup and I've done really well.

I didn't eat salad til I was almost a year out. I always did protein first, so I just didnt have the space for anything else. Now I can salad, not a lot, but at least I can try it. I still do my protein first, so most times I'm pretty full with just that.

After my six week post op appointment they told me to incorporate all foods, minus the usuals(simple sugars)I've had salad since then with no issues.

I just got sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I get really hungry for salad and then can eat very little, mainly the cheese, eggs, and any meat but the greens just don't sit well.

I love salad. Yum, I'm headed to sprouts today to hit the spinach bulk bin.
