Ugh. got on the scale today

I was expecting bad news because my jeans have been feeling a little tight.  Plus, I know I've been eating more than usual.  I think it's partly due to stress and partly because I haven't been sleeping much at all, and if I'm awake most of the night, I get hungry and want an extra snack (or two).  So I wasn't surprised to see I am up six pounds, but I'm not happy about it either.

Guess it's time to start counting calories for a while and getting a bit more exercise.  blah.

At least you caught it now! I know that you will take charge and get it off again. Even we "vets" have the same issues as non WLS people.

Thanks for coming out and sharing Kelly!

Better to catch it at 6 pounds than at 20 pounds. Thanks for the reminder that this is  lifelong issue. I know you've got this!

That's my fear too. Regain. But sounds like you caught it in time, and you're very wise when it comes to giving advice, so I know you can handle this!

That's why I weight myself periodically.  I definitely don't obsess over the scale, but I do keep an eye on it.  But I've been eating when I'm stressed, I've been snacking more than usual, I haven't been very careful about measuring my portions lately, and I've been snacking on a lot of carby things lately.  It's definitely no surprise that I've gained a little.  Hopefully it won't be too hard to get things back under control.

I weigh daily. I don't let it influence my mood, but I still need to see it every day. Plus, I still haven't reached my goal. So I want to see my progress.

I still measure my food too. I bought little containers and I eat whatever fits in it. Sometimes I can't even finish that.

Those carbs can be addicting! I'm more of a salty carb kinda gal. As long as its not around, I'm good.

I usually measure but lately I've gotten a bit lax about it.  And I think it's easy for me to allow portion sizes to creep up.  I'm back to measuring today.  And I'm also counting my calories.  I've been up since 5:15 and it's just after 11:00 here, and so far I've had 500 calories.  And I feel satisfied.

I LOVE the salty crunchy carbs.  I usually don't keep them around, but Mike has been doing the grocery shopping lately and he buys them.

I would throw them out! Or, what I tend to do when I have something that is to temping, I give it away, or invite some friends over and serve it. My husband thankfully loves sweets. He likes cookies. I don't. He can have his cookies.

Well, I'm sure you can do it. You have maintained wonderfully all these years. Six pounds is nothing. You can do it!

That sucks Kelly. But it's a good thing you caught it now and it's also possible that some is water weight and stomach contents and that you only gained a few pounds. It sounds like you're on top of it in any case

I don't think it's water weight.  My weight usually fluctuates by about three pounds, and this six pounds is on top of that.  Although I have had some salty snacks lately, so maybe a little of it is water... but if I'm honest with myself, most of it probably isn't.  I know I've been eating more.
