I am getting nervous but I keep saying just one more step and you will be having surgery!

I go in at 6am procedure is at 730 if you can spare a prayer for me and my nerves and the hospital staff who have to deal with me. I plan on begging them give me the IV and knock me out I don't want to remember a thing and I am nervous!

The liquid diet is rough but it is so worth it I keep telling myself.....although I don't see why the scale is not moving much yet. I am on day 7 and the scale goes up and down the same 3 lbs.

Good Luck to everyone having surgery tomorrow I can't wait to join you on the Loser's Bench come on March 25th hurry up!

Good luck to you!  The IV is the worst part, so if you get through that, you won't care about the rest!  LOL  Let us know how you do!

I had an endoscopy and was totally out. I think that is the only way they do them. Surely no one can lie still while wide awake and let them run a tube with a light on the end down your throat and look around. At least I hope no one has to have an endo that way.

Ill send prayers your way! The endoscopy is a breeze. They had the iv hooked up then rolled me into the procedure room, told me to roll over on my side to face them then the next thing I know I'm in recovery. They turn on that juice & you're out. Good luck & look forward to having you on the looser's bench soon. :-)

I have mine on Tuesday! Best of luck to you. I am just as nervous as you are. I don't like needles, I don't like feeling like I cannot move or being pinned down so this is going to be interesting. I did a YouTube search on Upper Endoscopy and found a couple of videos. Probably not the best thing I have ever done, but it helped a "little" bit. I know that in these videos and from what I have heard, you are not completely out but you are in a Twilight state and pretty much remember NOTHING.

I have had several surgeries and valium has been my friend. My first experience was with jaw surgery and they had to stick tubes down my nose and needles in my arms. I remember EVERYTHING, but I also remember not giving a crap about anything they did. I assume this is almost like twilight.

I am going to ask my doctor if I can get or at least see a video of my endoscopy. I think that would be awesome. I love to watch that stuff. Anyway, I will say a prayer for you and I hope that you will say one for me too. Good luck on your surgery too. Mine is scheduled for 3/26!!!

It was a breeze except for the IV they weren't sure if they should do a blood draw so they were waiting to get the word so blood was running down my arm and they kept digging it in deeper it felt like. Finally I said just take it in case I am tired of waiting and they took a vial of blood. I have a inflammation in my stomach he said that is fine could be from coffee and he said take probiotics. He took a biopsy of it to be sure all was ok but he sees no problem so come on 25th!

Thanks for the responses ladies!
