Hi Everyone!  It appears that PostOp diets (and times) vary from surgeon to surgeon.  I was wondering what you ate or was allowed to eat (and when saying eat I mean drink/sip) during the Full Liquid phase of your PostOp diet?

Also, if you would share with me one of your favorite Full Liquid Diet recipes, that would be great.  I have seen a ton of creaitvity when from everyone when it comes to the pureed phase, but haven't done research on this phase!

Thank you all in advance!

Alli

P.S.  Thank you for everyone who helped me with my post-surgery pain questions.  I ended up presenting to the ER and turns out that I had an abdominal edema and my lungs were slightly collapsed.  After 2 days back in the hospital I feel amazing and finally ready for my journey to begin (despite the 10lbs gained from all those darn IV fluids).  So THANKS AGAIN!

I could have cream of wheat, cream of rice, fat free soups (broth), sf pudding, yogurt, popsicles, jello and protein drinks. I like to add pb2 (peanut butter powder) to my protein drinks because it gives me 5 more grams of protein. It is so yummy! Pam

bbearsmama:

peanut butter powder?  Why on earth did you find that?  I just cannot stomach another protein shake and peanut butter powder sounds interesting.

I bought my peanut butter powder from the Vitamin Shoppe. They also have a chocolate peanut butter powder.

I got it at Kroger. They had a section of organic food and it was by the organic peanut butter. I hate most protein shakes but i do like the slim fast high protein creamy chocolate powder. It tastes like a malt to me. When i add the pb2 powder it is even better. The slimfast shakes are 15 g of protein. Then add 5 more g if u use the pb2. I have found that I cant stomach any of the ready to drink protein shakes. They just have such a weird taste to me. I also like the no sugar added carnation instant breakfast (blue box). It only has 13 g of protein but it is 18 when u add the pb2. I have tried shakes that are higher in protein but I cant stand the taste. Good luck! Pam

I'm still in full liquids and my plan allows very thin mashed potatoes and very thin oatmeal. I never though****ery mashed potatoes would taste so amazing, but I can't stomach more protein shakes.

I'm definitely going to have to try that PB2 though!
