Had my pre op appt for Monday's Surgery today!
So this is really going to happen. I went in and went over my medical history with a nurse, next the same info with anesthesia, and finally with the blood draw lady. They all apologized over going over the same info 3x but wanted to be sure in case I forgot anything. I thanked them I like that they are so on top of things. They also told me if anyone asks if I have any implants I should count my mesh from my hernia surgery I didn't even think of that.
This time on Monday I will be in surgery forever changing my life. I went to the surgeons store and picked up all my drinks and soups for next week. I got my vitamin D and chewable vitamins. I think I am all ready. Thank you all for your support over the years. I have bounced in and out of this site for many many years. My baby that was 1 when I first looked into this and chickened out is turning 13 this year. I feel bad that I spent her childhood obese but look forward to the future and the adventures I can go on and participate in with her and her 3 siblings.
Keep me in your prayers please!

I'm wishing you all the best Michelle!
I too took a long time on this decision. I think it's better that way. It really helped me to come to terms with my decision. I think that some people rush into it and regret it. That could be a recipe for failure. Taking your time, doing research, and really making sure that WLS (and which WLS you want) is right for you is a serious PLUS. I also think it gives you more ownership in it. If you rush into it perhaps you feel like you were decieved into thinking this was all going to be candy canes and gum drops or something.
Best of luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Michelle, I am so happy for you! I know this has been a long time coming and it will be worht it. I also agree with some of the posters above.... you took your time and now you are ready.... I took about 4-5 yrs to know I was ready to do this.....so glad I did...... I am now 6 months post op and the 1 thing for sure that I have learned, is to take one day at a time...... just make it thru each day, especially in the beginning, and you will be fine.... And of course, the support on this forum is still priceless to me..... I will put you in our prayers and I just know you will be fine.... GOOD LUCK.... and don't forget to take your "Before" photo..... I did and my husband takes one of me on the monthly anniversary of my surgery.... I love looking at them side by side.....
