Chinese food made me forget I had a small pouch!

Today I wasn't very hungry, so I just had a small amount of tuna, few bits of turkey jerky, and lots of fluids with protein powder. By the time I called in an order of Chinese food, my husband went out to pick up the order, and it was in the  house....I was starving!  Instead of dishing out my serving onto a plate, I ate from the container.  BIG MISTAKE!!  Tonight, I forgot that I had my RNY.  My tummy hurts now.  I didn't eat a tremendous amount more than I should have, but enough that I feel like I used to feel after Thanksgiving dinners...yes, plural!  Uggh!  At one point, I did feel the "tell tale" sign of fullness...the gurgling of my tummy...but I was so hungry that I ignored it.  Won't be doing that again.

Jan the same thing happens to me if I allow myself to get too hungry. I know it will happen and yet time and time again it does. I've decided I need to stick to more or less of a schedule with my eating or this will cont. to happen. I hope you feel better soon!

In the beginning, I was very good at keeping to a schedule, tracking and measuring everything that I ate and drank but lately, I'm not doing as well.  Earlier in the week, I went to my weight management center to pick up some more Food Diary sheets and some unflavored protein powder.
I will get back on track and stick to a schedule, so that this doesn't happen again...well, that's my goal.  I know I'm not perfect and will make mistakes, but I just don't want this to slowly get back into my previous bad eating habits.

I'm curious, what part of the Chinese order did you eat?

The inside of a few steamed dumplings and steamed Combination Chop Suey.  Mostly the meats and seafood...some of the veggies.
I don't eat rice or the wrappers of the dumplings.

If I get too hungry, I eat too fast and I get soooo sick.  My lunch today I did that.  I definitely need to remember to eat by the clock and not get THAT hungry.

It's so odd for me to NOT be hungry.  Prior to surgery, I could eat all the time...always felt hungry.  Or so I thought.  I now know that it was not really hunger, but boredom, anger, sadness, or whatever other excuse to eat.  Like you said, I will have to eat by the clock.

I haven't forgotten the pouch BUT I do eat way too fast if overly hungry.  I still love chicken and broccoli or chicken and snow peas...going heavy on the chicken but no rice.  :)
