WonderSlim & other bariatric focused food products ?!
Hi All -
So I have stumbled upon www.bariatricsource.com and a couple other sites that have high protein/ low carb (and high priced) products that come in perfectly portioned sized products like pancakes, mac n cheese, sloppy joes, etc. Most of the products are "WonderSlim". Have any of you every ordered these type of products? Or is there a particular website or store that can offer portioned sized products that fit with "our" lifestyle?
I ask this because I am finding myself wasting a TON of food, soups mainly, because I can only eat 1/2 cup and don't necessarily have the taste for the same thing 3-4 times a day for 2 days in order to use all of the soup. Make sense?
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
Hi there,
I went to the Dollar Tree store and found little two ounce containers with lids that I can pour my soup, beans, etc in and then freeze! It has worked for me. I have read where some people used ice cube trays(also available at dollar tree) and when frozen pop them out and put in large freezer bags.
I have not used those products called "WonderSlim" as I think they are so expensive!
good luck!

I tried some samples of a couple of their products to and thought they were all pretty gross. They are filled with tons of chemicals and are generally foods that DON'T fit well into a health eating lifestyle. There is nothing wrong with an occasional indulgence in macaroni and cheese, but IMO it is MUCH healthier to just eat a small amount of the "real" thing than to eat something so incredibly processed. One of my goals when I had this surgery was to eat more "cleanly", eliminating foods that are nothing but a bunch of chemicals.
i guess I don't understand why saving leftover soup is such an issue. It stays good for quite a while in the refrigerator, so it isn't like you have to eat it all within 2 days or it is going to go bad. Many years ago, I bought a FoodSaver vacuum sealer and I use it a LOT. I can create small portions of things (either before or after cooking) and they stay fresh for several weeks! That really helps me minimize the amount of food that I waste, and I am able to save money and put much healthier food into my body.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I ordered a few things to help stock my pantry in the early days. THey are way over priced, I think they taste awful and I agree with Lora they are highly processed, chemicals. They don't fit with the way I want my diet to be, so I don't use them. I tried the protein pretzels looking for a snack thing to have around....just ok. The pancakes were horrid to me. And I tried some of the cheesy chips....ew. I didn't try any of the meal things, so they might be okay, but really its just easier for me to grill some chicken or fish and at least I know I'm having solid protein and a whole food.
Thank you all so much for your varied opinions! I am just under 2 weeks post-op and researching to the max in preparation of my final stages. I ordered a "sampler pack" to try it out, but I am not 100% sure this will work. I am a very unsure of so much. So I really value all of your opinions. Thank you,
